Week of March 27

This week my production crew, consisting of myself, in collaberation with Carlos Garcia have established that we're doing a music video. The music video will most likely be my biggest project and i will put the most time out of all my films into that one.  I have did various mic tests while in this class and have also progressed on the song. I also plan on recording some vocals for the song today after school, but I was choking on some bread earlier and now my throat sort of hurts. I have also started the planning of another project. It is going to be a Mockumentary that I will be doing with my friends. We're going to be using a lot of the soccer stereotypes and it will hopefully be done by April 9th. I plan on having roughly 3 recording sessions but if we could finish it all in 2 then that would be great. I still need to get a binder because I guess I was summoned the day we did that or maybe I just wasn't paying attention.

What Music Means to Me

Music has got to be one of the biggest influences in my life. This is probably me being over dramatic, but without music I might not even be alive today. Music, to me, is a lot more than just a form of entertainment. Music is a form of expression and it works really well for me. Listening, playing, writing (or at least attempting to write) music is something I do on a daily basis. When I'm mad i sometimes just pick up the guitar and play my feeling away. Sometimes I end up turning those into songs or at least part of songs that I'll eventually complete. I've written about 15 ideas and only about 3 of them have managed to make it into completion, one of them is just and instrumental. Writing a song is extremely challenging but the reward is just amazing. Not even so much as you're making money off the song because you usually never do but actually writing a song and finding people who like it just feels great. But then there are songs that are really fun to play. Ed Sheeran is a relatively new artist but he has literally blown up and become extremely famous really fast. His songs are really fun to play, he's just really good at writing music i guess. Music has gotten me through some seriously rough times and it's all thanks to the artists that write those songs. The Fray and Death Cab for Cutie saw me through some depressing moments in my life and I still listen to then today. I personally only really listen to rock music, many variations of it. Every now and then I like to go back to my roots and listen to some of the really heavy metal style rock. Currently I listen more to alternative of indie but i still enjoy the other songs by Avenged Seven Fold or System of a Down.

Problems & Struggles

High school, as fun as it is made to seem, is more often than not a stressful time for many people. High school is like a tug of war except you're the rope. It feels like everyone is trying to put their ideals on you or drive you towards the "right" path. I have always been a relatively good student and I plan on remaining like that for the rest of my high school, and college, days. But the social stress of people either wanting you to do something you don't want to or maybe just overall making your life difficult is hard. There will always be "bad" people and they are unavoidable. I've been offered drugs before and sure I managed to say no but with the stress of the classes and other things I definitely considered it so that I could relieve myself or relax, even if it is just for a short while. There's also the struggles at home that contribute to this stress. Whether it's financial or a health issue with someone from the family.

The Most Interesting Person in the World!

Throughout my life I have met a various number of people, each unique and with their own stories. But one person that I find interesting is probably my best friend. I've known him since the 6th grade but back then we weren't really close. It was only until 7th grade that we reaches a mutual friendship, and by mutual I really just mean that boundaries for our friendship were setup. But it's odd that he wasn't my best friend in middle school. He was one of my closer friends but it was only until after middle school that we started going over to each others' houses on an almost weekly basis. He also goes to a different school so we really only talked whenever we went to each others' houses. I guess maybe it's because after middle school we both opened up to each other and began telling each other "stories". Things that were happening or had happened to us and we would give each other advice on it. Most of it at first was just a bunch of internal struggle nonsense that didn't really make sense for either side but as our friendship grew, so did the detail of the stories. We have used this system of telling stories to I guess sort of cope or maybe just breathe about what's bothering us. But what he tells me is interesting and i like to think that my stories are entertaining also.
